Well, I got over my depression of the other day. My kids are back from Kyoto, and some of them even brought me presents. I'm glad to have them back, although it also means a return to dealing with all of their petty teenage problems. But anyway, final exams are in just over a week, and then it's summer vacation. So yeah. Not too much time to think deeply here.
Anyway, for the last two days, the other art teacher at the school has been sick, we have all of our classes crammed into Wednesday and Thursday, so it's always really busy. Those are the only days that he even comes to school, but this week he's out sick, leaving me to teach the classes all by myself. But, it went pretty well actually. The kids pretty much do what they're supposed to if you don't hassle them and treat them like idiots. And since they don't like the Japanese art teacher, they are actually more willing to settle down and get something done when he's not there. But it was still a lot of stress for me, although he doesn't do too much anyway, so it was for the most part business as usual. The biggest difference was having only myself instead of the two of us to go around and encourage (or bludgeon) kids who are working enough. But, I think that it worked out okay.
