Hey, it's already October 8th! Time flies when you are barely conscious eh? The weather is cooling down nicely, and the wind is picking up as well. I am pretty sure that I am over that cold for real though. It will soon be time for the famous fall leaves that Japanese people go so crazy about, although I have searched around and there isn't really a good place to view them in Koshigaya. Right now I am trying to think of what I can do for my kids for Halloween. It seems like there should be a lot of fun activities that you could do, but I am having a hard time coming up with any good ones. Any ideas?

The other day, I finally got a Japanese credit card. They are much more strict about it than they are in the US, which I think is a good thing. I filled out the application online, and a few days later, they called me to check that all the details were correct. They still weren't as thorough as they should have been, because most of that stuff was lies, and doesn't do any good just asking me to repeat the lie again. For example, I said I worked in my current job for three years. The falsehood of this statement would have been easy to discover because my school has only existed for two years. But I guess they didn't call the school, because I got my card. First they called me to schedule delivery of t. That's right; it has to be delivered in person. They don't just send it in the mail; it comes by courier. And he checked my ID, for which I used my new Japanese Driver's license, and also made me apply my hanko. But now I have my card and I am free to engage in all sorts of frivolous internet shopping.
